Taurog, et al, have studied minocycline (MN), a tetracycline antibiotic, investigating the mechanisms for inhibition of TPO-catalyzed iodination and coupling reactions.

Sugawara, et al, studied methimazole (MMI) and propylthiouracil (PTU), two common antithyroid drugs for treating hyperthyroidism that inhibit thyroid peroxidase (TPO)-catalyzed thyroid hormone formation.
