"We previously reported evidence for improve receptor response to thyroid hormones following orthoiodosupplementation. Therefore, iodine is not only necessary for the synthesis of thyroid hormones but also for their effect on target cells. This effect is probably due to iodination of the thyroid hormone receptor."
